Water Scarcity affecting Europe

07:52 May 4 2018 Europe

Description
80% of water in Europe is used for agriculture. In parts of southern Europe the ground water can no longer supply enough and desalinated seawater is being used.
Being one of the largest importers, Germany depends not only on agricultural products from southern Europe but also other products, such as cotton or rice, which require vast amounts of water in developing countries. Hence, once there is scarcity of water and the imported products can no longer be purchased the conflict will be taken to Germany. It will not be violent, but there will be severe impacts on the lives of the European population as well. Mostly the economy will be affected as due to global water scarcity large losses will have to be faced.
